This 360-room hotel is located in the heart of the city’s business district and just a short walk from Taksim Square’s shopping and entertainment areas. As a result the Hyatt Regency Istanbul is well suited for both business and leisure travelers. The property is 20 kilometers from Atatürk Airport and five minutes from Istanbul’s historic landmarks, including Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace. The hotel has a ballroom and meeting rooms making it one of the leading hotels in Istanbul for business conferences. The 10-storey property overlooks the Bosphorus with a façade of tinted glass and Ottoman-style trim.

Former customer complaints about poor service and incredibly high prices for food, particularly the items in the minibar, warrant the 50/50 rating. One client said a small bottle of water from the minibar cost $9. A different visitor said he was able to buy the same water for $1 outside the hotel. A couple cringed at an $11 bill for one cup of coffee. Many said the service was indifferent, sometimes quite rude. Those who stayed at other hotels in Istanbul said the service was not always great but it was certainly not rude. Hopefully Hyatt will make changes. Hyatt Regency Istanbul Accommodations

The King Rooms located on the third and fourth floors have views of either the city or the pool and gardens. The hotel says its rooms are the largest in the city. Amenities include king-size bed, spacious marble bathroom with hairdryer, tub and glass-enclosed rain shower. There is a work desk with Internet access, coffee and tea making facilities, minibar, in-room safe, satellite TV, three phones and windows that open. Room service is available 24/7.

Amenities offered

The health and recreation centre has fitness and exercise rooms, aerobic and step classes, personalized fitness programs, sauna and massage, solarium, juice bar, outdoor swimming pool, floodlit tennis court and a Turkish bath. Dining options include the Spazio Italian Restaurant and all-day dining at the Agora Café Restaurant. There is a business center and the 24-hour front desk can arrange airport transfers, airline reservations, babysitters and currency exchange. There is a beauty salon on-site as well as a newsstand and gift shops.

From Atatürk International Airport: Folllow directions to Ataköy. Continue straight ahead on the road to Aksaray / Taksim. Go left for Taksim and keep left, Hyatt Regency Istanbul is on the left-hand side at the crossing.
