If you are looking for something near the city of Seville start searching again. This is an amazing retreat 70 kilometers north of the city in the village of El Pedroso, the mountain pass of Seville’s Sierra del Norte. It’s rural, charming and completely off the tourist track. Just 12 rooms, a spa and lots of great countryside. Hardly a businessman’s haven or a spot for the tourist looking for a lively time.

Hotel Casa Montehueznar Accommodations

The 12 rooms, one is a junior suite, are inside a beautiful old mansion built in 1875. The house was originally the home of the village’s mining engineer. Rustic is the best way to describe the décor. The guestrooms have been furnished tastefully in different colors and each named after the provinces of Andalusia. Spanish visitors have described the rooms as exquisite.

Amenities offered

Main attraction here is the hotel’s spa. Those who want to enjoy the great outdoors – and there is plenty of it up here – can hire horses by the hour or day to tour the countryside or rent quad bikes to traverse the mountain terrain. The hotel offers a two-night package which gives full use of its spa. Included in the package are a double room for the two nights and a bottle of champagne and chocolates on arrival. Then you have the full spa treatment which includes Jacuzzi, sauna, and several different showers with aromatherapy and special oils. Finishing touch is a romantic dinner at the Restaurante de la Sierra Norte. Cost of the package – under €200.
