Sadly this hotel ranked 116 out of 165 Seville hotels surveyed in a traveler’s poll. Some guests recommend it and plan to return but more dislike the property. Nobody complains about the cleanliness of the property or the elevator which goes all the way from the underground garage to the top floor. Its distance from the city center is in dispute. Some say the car journey can be done in five minutes and others say 20. Some praise the breakfast buffet others claim all they received was bread. The building is not the most impressive – neither old and quaint like some in the city – or new and glitzy like those outside the city.

Hopefully the complaints will encourage management to make changes to push this hotel up the popularity poll. With so many other places to stay in and around Seville the Hotel Doña Carmela has a long way to go before it becomes a place to stay rather than a place to avoid.

All 58 rooms – 50 double and eight singles – have a fully-equipped bathroom with a hairdryer, telephone, satellite TV and air conditioning. The hotel also offers additional beds and cribs for the rooms.
The hotel offers free minibus services to the train station, airport and the theme park Isla Mágica. During Seville’s big fiesta in April there is a continuous service from the hotel to the city center. The 24-hour front desk sells tickets to flamenco shows and other popular Seville attractions. Dinner is served in the restaurant from 8.30pm until 11.30pm and lunch from 1.30pm until 3.30pm.
