Meliá Colón is one of Seville's oldest hotels and in some ways it shows. But it continues to attract customers because it maintains high standards in service and dining. The traditional feel outweighs the fact that is not one of the city’s modern hotels nor is it a chic boutique property. It has a great location, in the heart of the old quarter, between the cathedral (a fifteen minute walk), La Giralda, the Torre del Oro and the Real Maestranza. And it is just 12 kilometers from Seville’s International Airport.

The Meliá Colón is staid and traditional. It is not the most up-to-date hotel in Seville but it does have an Internet corner. You’ll get value for money here whether you are a business traveler or here to see the sights. The staff tend to be more professional than friendly. And it’s been that way a long time. Melia Colon Accommodations

There are 204 double rooms - each covering 22 square meters - 11 junior suites with a separate lounge (44 square meters) and three presidential suites (130 square meters) located on the seventh floor each with a huge terrace, All accommodation is air conditioned and comes with satellite TV, telephone, minibar and safe deposit box. Some rooms are better furnished than others but management says a continuing refurbishing program is underway.

Amenities offered

The restaurant attracts a of local diners and that is a good recommendation. Tavern La Tasca, serving the best of Andalusian cuisine and the city's best tapas is open from 11am to 1am. Restaurant El Burladero, one of the most famous restaurants in Seville specializes in regional dishes and is open from 1.30pm to 4pm and from 9pm to midnight. The hotel also has a good breakfast buffet for hotel guests – and outsiders. The 24-hour front desk handles car rental and organizes trips and tickets for area entertainment. Businessmen will find meeting rooms with secretarial help. The hotel also has rooms for seminars and conventions.
