This certainly is a hotel with a difference. Eighteen well-known architects and designers from 13 different countries were engaged to design rooms across the hotel's 12 floors. Thus it is an extraordinary mix of ancient and modern. Fortunately you will be shown pictures of the rooms upon arrival so you can choose which room you would prefer. The 342-room hotel is located in a quiet residential area north of the city, 10 kilometers from the airport, on the Avenida de America. There is a Metro and bus station nearby for access to all the areas of the city.

Yes, this is luxury property but it is not for everyone. No, if you can't handle some of the over-the-top room ideas where things can be more of a nuisance than functional. Silken Puerta America Accommodations

It would take a book to describe the different décor of the rooms. To give you an idea: The first floor was designed by Zaha Hadid and the second floor by Sir Norman Foster. All 12 floors plus the public areas were created by different designers or architects. Each room, however different in décor, is fully equipped with all the things you would expect at a five star property.

Amenities offered

This is a five star property with lots of amenities including a fitness center, indoor pool, rooms for banquets and meetings, expensive dining, high speed Internet access, a business center and a nearby jogging track. The 24-hour front desk can help with shopping ideas, arranging tee times at a nearby golf course, or planning theater and museum visits. The restaurant and bar are both award winning sites as are the magnificent gardens and grounds.
