This is a well-priced property with a superb location close to the Puerta del Sol, in the very heart of Madrid’s historic and commercial center. Its mix of rooms makes it ideal for families on holiday or the executive who prefers to stay in a small hotel. The Petit Palace Puerta del Sol hotel was opened in 2004 in a renovated six story building that dates back to 1855. Many of the city’s most popular sightseeing spots, including the Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and the Prado Museum, are within easy walking distance. There is also a tourist bus that leaves a few meters away from the hotel to see others sights and monuments in the city.

Yes, it is in a great location and reasonably priced and the larger rooms are great for families anxious to see the city close-up without overspending on accommodation. No, because many previous clients – mostly Americans – complained that they couldn't get their rooms cool enough and what the hotel considered high tech was in fact high tacky. The hotel’s 64 rooms all have free high speed Internet access, flat screen TVs. IDD telephones, latest model hydro-massage showers, in-room safe, mini bar, hairdryer and double glazing. Room categories are single rooms with queen size beds, double rooms with the choice of either queen size or twin beds, triple rooms with one king size bed plus one single bed or three single beds and quadruple rooms with one king size bed plus bunk beds or twin beds plus bunk beds.

The hotel has a buffet restaurant, business center and has access for the handicapped. The 24-hour front desk offers advice on restaurants, museums and tours. There is a bar and the hotel will store luggage for you. Other services include laundry and dry cleaning, and car rentals. Complimentary newspapers are available daily in the lobby.
