A small hotel in the historic heart of the Spanish capital, the Sofitel Madrid Plaza de España gives you quality at an affordable price with the ability to see many of the sights within walking distance. The hotel is best suited for short-stay leisure travelers who want to see a lot in a short period but don’t want to spend time on public transport or taxis. Madrid is a city that does not come to life until late in the evening. Expect to find the nearby restaurants opening for dinner after 8pm and closing in the small hours of the morning.

It is the location right in the city center that is the appeal of this Sofitel property which is a quality hotel which does not have a full restaurant, fitness center or pool. But if you came to Madrid to see the sights you probably won’t have time for such things. There are numerous restaurants in varying price ranges and quality within easy walking distance. Sofitel Madrid Plaza de Espana Accommodations

The hotel’s 91 rooms including five more expensive prestige rooms and the lavish El Prado suite are fully equipped and tastefully furnished. All are air-conditioned and have an in-room safe, satellite TV with pay per view movies, wireless Internet access and DDL telephone. The bathrooms have a radio and telephone and come with a hairdryer and magnifying mirror. Room service is available from 6:30am until midnight.

The hotel’s bar, El Patio is open from 7am until midnight. There is musical entertainment every evening. The 24-hour front desk can arrange car rentals, dry cleaning and laundry, currency exchange, and translating service. A self service business center can handle faxes, copies and has Internet access.
