superb hotel - posted on 04/22/2007

we were very lucky to have chosen this superb hotel. the location was perfect. it was walking to distance to many tourist sights. and the service was good as well. one thing though, the room we were in was quite noisy at night. we could hear all the merry making of the people in the streets. overall, i would choose to stay in this hotel again...

Nice hotel and helpful staff. It was a bit noisy around the hotel but you are in the middle of a large shopping center and there is construction all over madrid. It's close to a metro stop as well as tons of places to eat and bars. The rooms are very comfortable and nice. Mine even had a balcony.

Expectations Not Met - posted on 09/10/2006

This hotel has good and bad points. Location is great, the staff is helpful and courteous. Rooms are small, and bathrooms are tiny. Ad stated that breakfast was free. We were charged for breakfast and told that this amenity was discontinued on the 1st of January. Wireless internet would not connected, and technical support was nonexistent. There was a stand alone computer which could be used by guests. All in all, a slightly better than average 3 star hotel in a great location with a decent price.

During our 4 night stay the elevator was broken 3 days. Our room was on the 5th floor and we are over 60. Room took awhile to cool down every time you entered since you cannot leave the a/c on. Breakfast was somewhat expensive for the selection. Staff is helpful. Toledo tour had to be walked to did not pick up at Hotel as expected.

Mixed Feelings - posted on 04/03/2006

Location perfect, staff friendly and breakfast good. However, nonsmoking not enforced, as smoke crept in our room all night. One's required to leave key at the desk when leaving, which we found odd. Second, even with the Do Not Disturb sign on the door when we left, the waiter was allowed in to check the mini bar and the maid came in to clean despite the sign. I did not understand why once we had checked in, so many people were allowed into room against our wishes. You can't beat the location for sightseeing if none of the above bothers you.

Great Experience - posted on 11/28/2005

This was our first visit to Spain, and the choice of the hotel was a significant contribution to the success of this trip. Firendly employees, VERY clean room and beautiful bathroom, good breakfast, affordable airport transportaion and the most convenient location one could have in the city! Would stay there again and strongly recommend this hotel to the others.

Little Pearl - posted on 03/21/2005

Tucked away downtown, near Puerta del Sol. Quiet setting because it's on a pedestrian street. Clean, large rooms, very nice baths, good breakfast included. Near to Metro, walking distance to Prado, 10 min away from train station via Metro. Great restaurants nearby. This was a great buy for my family.

Good value - posted on 12/03/2004

This hotel was good value for money. It was a central location, good for shopping, near to the Palace and lots of good eating places. The breakfast was good and the hotel was clean. The room was dimly lit and the furniture could do with an update (as could the central heating system as it kept making a noise). The staff were friendly and overall it was very clean and the breakfast area was charming.
