After a 12-day cruise on the Mediterranean, we had just one night to spend in Barcelona, so time was precious. Hotel 1898 was the perfect choice. We arrived at around 10:00 a.m. and our room was ready for check-in...we were able to take our luggage right up and start exploring beautiful Barcelona. The room was very nice and the bathroom was downright luxurious, with modern fixtures, marble everywhere, plush robes and high-end toiletries. The location, right on the Rambla, was in the middle of all the action, but the triple-paned glass kept out all the noise. I highly recommend this hotel!

The "Hotel 1898" is in the perfect Barcelona location. Hotel has been refurbished and is GORGEOUS. Restaurant is superb....rooms are really nice. Would definitely stay there on next trip. Location is on LaRambla street and easy walking to lots of sights. But, even though its on the LaRambla, its still QUIET. View from rooftop bar and pool area at night is a MUST. Thank you for finding the hotel for me.

Rooms were great and the staff was helpful and attentive. My only compaint was that they did not have my reservation. It took about an hour to check in. But for that, my overall rating would have been a 5.

THIS HOTEL WAS THE BOMB! IT HAD 2 FABULOUS POOLS AND A SPA --UNUSUAL IN EUROPE. THE ROOM AND HOTEL WAS EXTREMEMLY CLEAN AND WELL KEPT.

My girlfriend and I had a very enjoyable stay at Hotel 1898. The room was beautiful and the service was excellent. The location was ideal. We recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay in Barcelona and be in the midst of all the happenings.

Hotel 1898 is a lovely hotel right in the heart of Las Ramblas yet still seemed private, intimate. The new-ness of this hotel was very refreshing since it opened November 2005. Sheets were crisp cotton, green marble bathroom with artsy fixtures, flat-screen tv. Best part was the pool, saunas and spa with massage. Spent couple hours/day relaxing in saunas! Made the vacation in a busy city seem very relaxing and pampering. Would return to the hotel in a heart beat.
