Location, location, location! - posted on 04/14/2006
My husband and I booked a one-night stay in the Albus because of the price. It's not a luxury hotel by any means, but there are soaps in the bathroom and the bar/cafe on site is nice enough-looking to meet a friend for a drink. The hotel is located in the middle of a great area of the Centrum - near the Flower Market and the Rembrandtsplein. We never needed a cab - walked to the hotel from the train station in about 10 minutes, and didn't have to walk through any of the more "doubtful" parts of the city... Definitely going back.

First impression was to say private bathrooms are hotels finest feature, a luxury in this city, but shower needs a little work: zero power and the curtain billows at you as if possessed. Avoid the 'Deluxe' room, the perks aren't all that (coffee/tea in room, pants pressing service, power shower heads, more desk space). Hotel is in great location- in the central canal ring, the most beautiful part of this vibrant city. Friendly staff. Go and indulge all your hedonistic, romantic, or just simple curiosities fellow wanderers and rest your head at the Albus Grand hotel when sleep beckons.
