With Amsterdam as its capital city, Netherlands has gained quite the reputation for being a cosmo country filled with luxury and fun. Although that’s true, there is more to this country than meets the eye. Some may call the entire country Holland but this is only a small part of this vast place. You will see your fair share of windmills, clogs and tulips here though so it is easy to understand why the generalization exists. There are other places worth visiting including Rotterdam, one of the largest port cities in the world and Zutphen, a beautiful ancient city. Wherever you go the Netherlands’ landscape is perfect for biking. This is a great way to see the countryside. After you have worked up an appetite you can relax and enjoy the fries and a cold Heineken. Just don’t be surprised if your fries are topped with applesauce, which is a local favorite.
