Monaco Country Guide

Monaco is a stunning costal country located along the French Riviera. As one of the world's smallest independent states you might wonder what all the hoopla is about. Once you arrive though you too will understand why it is known as a playground for the rich and famous. It is a country where princes still rule and movie stars come to frolic. The locals don't need to pay taxes here. The tourism and gambling industries bring in enough revenue to ensure it looks pristine all year long.

The Monte-Carlo Casino is definitely the place to be seen. Whether you're there to gamble or to enjoy a great night out you won't soon forget your experience. Another popular Monaco site is the Salle Garnier Opera House. Even if you are not able to catch a magical performance you should visit the Opera House just to see the architecture and impressive details. As mentioned before, Monaco is home to royalty and the Prince's Palace is an absolute must see. It truly is spectacular and the views from its grounds are also quite amazing. The Monaco Cathedral is another highlight and was the location for a number of important events in Monaco's history. Anyone who loves the ocean or is amazed by the life that exists below the water will want to visit the Oceanographic Museum. Just give yourself enough time to explore all the gems it has to offer. Prefer the land? The Jardin Exotique, also known as the Exotic Gardens, is a great place to view a host of flora that have been carefully cultivated. Need a bit more speed? Walk the famous Formula One Grand Prix course. You could drive most of it as well but walking it is a wonderful way to enjoy the Monaco sites.

Monaco's most famous city is Monte Carlo and many of the attractions noted are found here. However, you should explore all that Monaco has to offer. You can enjoy a bird's eye view with a helicopter tour or you could rent a car and drive through the countryside. This part of the world is quite simply breathtaking. Your holiday in Monaco definitely won't be cheap but shopping here could put you over the edge. Home to amazing stores and boutiques you'll really have to tie your hands behind your back or you could buy your purchases in France and Italy before you arrive. There are also a number of beaches for you to enjoy that Monaco sun. The most popular public one is the Larvotto Beach. There are private ones as well as private pools that can be accessed when staying at a hotel. Dining in Monaco is a feast for your sense. Everything is prepared with great care and the service you'll receive is just as spectacular.

Discovering Monaco is an experience of a lifetime. Even if you come for a short visit you too will understand why it is such a popular destination.
