The hotel was nice and the staff were very helpful, but the hotel is on an island called Lido which is a five to ten minute boat ride away from the San Marco plaza. It wasn't too much of an inconvienence, but if I went again I would stay in Venice.

The rooms are very small to U.S. standards but the entire hotel was so charming I didn't care. It's in a great location right across the canal from St. Marks Square. Many places to dine and less expensive than Venice, the Roxy is awesome, lots of sea food but they also make an amazing fillet. All of the staff were very helpful, they made my first visit to Venice one that I will never forget.
