Standing on a canal, Starhotels Splendid Venice showcases formal Venetian architecture through the presence of cut-glass mirrors and plush fabrics of velvet and silk. The hotel has its own gondola mooring and its Le Maschere restaurant serving Venetian specialties overlooks the canal. Within walking distance of the hotel are attractions such as Rialto Bridge, Saint Mark’s Square, and the Bridge of Sighs. Half a mile from the hotel is the Fenice opera house, Santa Maria della Pieta church, and the Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni on Saint George Island, which exhibits paintings by the famous Venetian painter Vittore Carpaccio. Within two miles from the hotel is the Peggy Guggenheim Museum.

This hotel is ideal for those who want to be near all the famous attractions of Venice. Rooms are furnished minimally but contain necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. There are 166 rooms at Starhotels Splendid Venice. Each room has an attached bathroom and features individual air conditioning, sound-proof walls, satellite television with pay-per-view channels, direct dial telephone, mini bar, safe box, high speed Internet connection, heating, and hair dryer. Room service is available during designated hours. Non smoking rooms, rooms with a view, facilities for the disabled, and cots are all available upon request. One child under the age of 16 can stay free in the parents’ room.

The five-storey hotel is entirely air-conditioned and has access for the disabled. A well-equipped meeting room can accommodate 12 (maximum) for small gatherings, and guests will find interesting views of Venice city rooftops from the roof-top garden. The multilingual staffs and concierge can assist with tourist information, baby sitting services, Internet services, currency exchange, and car rental. Fax services are provided by the 24-hour operational front desk. The hotel also provides complimentary tickets for a tour led by a multilingual guide of a glass-blowing factory on Murano Island.

From Milan via the A4 (E64 then E70) highway, take the first exit for Venezia. When on the tangenziale (ring road) continue until Piazzale Roma and park the car at the car park. Take water bus number 81 and stop at Rialto Bridge. Get on to Salizzada Pio X then turn right on to Via due Aprile followed by a left to Calle Stagneridetta Della Fava. Take a right on to Calle del Stagneri followed by a left on to Merceria San Salvador, then another right on to Fondementa Regina. Turn left to Calle dei Pignoli and continue to shortly arrive at Starhotels Splendid Venice.
