We had traveled to Venice 3 or 4 times before and always loved it. The hotels had gotten so high we decided to give this one a try. What a surprise very nice and friendly staff. This year we took our grown daughter, son in law and two grand daughters (14 and 17) during spring break. Not only did we enjoy the hotel but breakfast was inc. with our room. Since we were leaving by train very early they made us a sack breakfast ! Very thoughtful. Will return.

the hotel is very run-down; staff is not helpful; hot water kept going off; drains were full and water kept overflowing and flooding the rooms below; very noisy; poor layout- 1/2 floors hard to reach esp. difficult to carry luggage. This hotel should be 1 star not 3
Hotel Continental Venice - Worst Hotel Ever - posted on 06/08/2005
This was by far our worst experience ever in a hotel. The hotel itself was old and dirty, with peeling wallpaper and mold in the rooms (we switched rooms twice). The staff was just as bad. They were incredibly rude, even to our tour guide, and simply laughed about the broken air conditioning.

We were booked into this hotel as part of a 39 person tour. Upon arrival, we were informed that the air conditioning was broken although it was working just fine in their dining room. The staff, especially the front desk staff, was incredibly rude. The rooms varied from somewhat nice to downright shabby. With no airconditioning, we shared our room with plenty of bugs each night. Some of the rooms overlooking the garbage area were also home to plenty of mosquitoes and roaches. Not a highly recommended hotel by any means.

This is the worst hotel ever created. It is nowhere near a 3 star hotel. It is outdated, small, falling apart, the air conditioning breaks and they don't care, wallpaper peeling, rudest staff EVER!
