Hotel Continental overlooks the Grand Canal in a 15th century building standing on a street in a zone that used to belong to the Spanish community of Venice. The hotel’s interior is dressed in typical Venetian style with touches of Siennese and Portuguese marble. Guests can sip cocktails at the bar then have a candlelit dinner on the terrace of the restaurant, which offers splendid views of the Grand Canal. The vicinity of the hotel is dotted with traditional Venetian snack bars and souvenir shops. Rialto Bridge is about a mile from the hotel while Saint Mark’s Square, the Bridge of Sighs and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection of modern art are about one and a half miles away.

This hotel is convenient for travelers arriving to Venice by train with heavy luggage, and is close to a water bus stop for affordable public transport around the waterways of Venice. The rooms of Hotel Continental offer views of the Grand Canal, the adjacent small square or Lista di Spagna street, and come with twin, double or triple bed arrangements. All rooms have air conditioning and heating, satellite television, direct dial telephone, wireless Internet connection, and in-room safe. The attached bathroom has either a bath tub or shower, and hair dryer. Room service is available during designated hours and guests enjoy a complimentary buffet breakfast.

The hotel’s first floor hosts cultural events or art and fashion shows on occasion. Guests can leave valuables in safe deposit boxes located at the front desk. From Marco Polo airport, take the ATVO shuttle or bus number 5 to Piazzale Roma; from San Guiseppe airport in Treviso, take the ATVO shuttle to Piazzale Roma. From Piazzale Roma, turn right to Fondamenta Santa Chiara then continue along Fondamenta della Croce and Fondamenta San Simeon Piccolo. Turn left on to Ponte Scalzi then take a right to Fondamenta degli Scalzi. Continue along Rio Terrà Lista di Spagna to arrive at Hotel Continental.

From Santa Lucia train station, walk along Fondamenta degli Scalzi and Rio Terrà Lista di Spagna to arrive at Hotel Continental.
