Exceptional Designer Hotel - posted on 01/21/2006
We stayed for a long weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A designer hotel, the atmosphere of this former bank building (the health club is in the former vault!) is exceptional. Small in size, the hotel has friendly and helpful staff standing by at every corner. The rooms are fairly small but nicely decorated and well equipped and quiet. Rates and restaurant prices are all but low.
nice hotel not nice prices - posted on 09/16/2005
This hotel is very nice and situated near many great sites and the metro. The prices in the restraunt and bar are absolutely hell. A meal with wine pasta and shrimp will run you about 130 euro each !!!!! Two glasses of wine are 30 euro in the bar!!! The staff is very freindly and most are helpful. I payed for a superior room with a king bed and got a queen. Overall it was a good experience
Hotel with a warm welcome - posted on 06/17/2005
Overall, we appreciated our stay in this extravagant hotel in the centre of Rome within walking distance of most attractions yet being close banks and businesses.Being a bank in former times - the small but well appointed health spa is partially contained in the bank's vault .The rooms are small but comfortable and well finished. There is ample personnel - reception, concierge, restaurant - to take care of guests' needs. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet (and la carte)of high quality. The hotel also possesses a wonderful roof garden, which was closed for annual maintenance during our stay, unfortunately.Because not everything can be perfect, I need to also list some of the points that we appreciated less. Overall, the hotel is extremely expensive. The room rate that we booked through this website was attractive - 225/night, stay three and get one free, plus VAT, an unusual rate for European hotel rate structures, but obviously catered for US clients - but breakfast weighs in with a heavy 22 per person per day. A practice that I do not appreciate: The majority of persons eat breakfast, and hiking up breakfast prices - buffet but also la carte - so as to subsidise room rates that are advertised lower so as to attract clients leaves a bit of a bitter after taste. Last but not least, the concierge, helpful and friendly

The room has great interior decoration, but too small; didn't have hot water in the morning
5-star luxury at off season prices - posted on 03/16/2005
Incredible value during the off season. The property is much different than a cookie cutter 5-star. The theme of heaven, hell, and purgatory is great. Hell is the reception (where you pay). The rooms are purgatory and the fantastic gym/spa is truly heaven.
Great Hotel in Rome - posted on 12/02/2004
modern, very clean, and reasonably priced (at least for Rome). I had their smallest room which was still good sized for Europe. Hotel is 2 blocks from subway, which was very convenient. My only minor complaint was the only channel in English was CNN International.Based on horror stories from my friends, there are a lot of expensive 5-star dumps in Rome. This was a terrific and had some great off season rates.
Aleph is Amazing - posted on 12/01/2004
We just returned from Rome, where we stayed at the Boscolo Aleph hotel for 6 nights. The rooms are comfortable works of art, the location in Via Veneto near the Trevi fountain and Spanish steps is very convenient. The service was 5-star plus. Must stay!
