Customer Reviews for Atlante Star Hotel

Great Location! - posted on 02/05/2007

Great Location, Gerat Breakfast, small Rooms, but that is to be expected in an European hotel! Nice Concierge! The decor in our room was dated, but It was a nice clean hotel

Atlante Star Hotel, Rome - posted on 09/29/2006

We found this hotel to be charming and conveniently located. The rooms are small, but that may be a European issue, more than a hotel issue. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful. Overall, a good experience.

My stay last year at the Atlante Star was a 180 from my past experiences of italy in general. The staff was very warm and professional. They ordered a car to take us to the port and he was there on time and there when we returned. An unpublicized benefit is the block long series of restaurants on the Pio Gorgio that opens for business at 7PM. They even comped us a bottle of champange on our return stay. I would definitively stay there again. this is a supurb hotel with First Class service

Fabulous! - posted on 08/01/2006

I was here with my teenaged daughter. We were so happy with the room ( crystal chandelier over bed, silk moire on walls, jacuzzi!), staff very friendly and helpful (at desk and restaurant). My daughter, to her delight, got to play the piano during off hours! View from restaurant unequalled! Buffet breakfast best we had had so far and as part of " package deal" made it a real bargain! Even real spoons in "bagged" breakfast we asked for, because flight left before restaurant opened. All was great except: watch for phone charges. Make sure you know how to use phone cards before arrival!

The room was very tiny and so was the rest of the hotel it was like alice in wonderland meets rome. The restaurant had a nice view and the breakfast was good.Location was ok and concierge were not very helpfull .If you can try to stay somewhere else it's not worth the money.

Mistake - posted on 07/20/2006

Poor amenities; extremely small room; indifferent service. A flight of stairs just to get to desk and no one to help! Rating not warranted

Great Location & Conceirge service - posted on 07/17/2006

No welcome drink. Conceirge was VERY helpful & bartender made great drinks fun to hang out with. The view from the restaurant was breathtaking -the breakfast very fresh every morning. The Vatican within walking distance, just over the little bridge are other attractions such as Pantheon, Fountain of Trevi & Spanish Steps. Only complaint was that we had to sign for towels - only kidding - we actually had to hand them in if we wanted fresh ones. Otherwise my family and I loved it. Would definitely stay there again.

We chose this hotel due to 4 stars and reviews in some travel books - but be cautioned that many of the roms have not be redone - early 1970's decor - with simlar infrastructure - plumbing and locks (took 5 minutes to opent he door each day). Location was good but not as good as the otehr side of the Tiber - too much street construction, traffic, etc.

Great Location and Breakfast - posted on 05/28/2006

My family of four shared a family room and space was adequate but we had to mop up the floor after every shower. Internet was not available in our room and they charged us to use it in the seating area. Also, the roof terrace was not open but view from the breakfast room was nice. There was no welcome drink. We would still return because of the good service and location.

Conceirge not helpful - posted on 02/23/2006

Conceirge unable to recommend restaurants, tours and tourist information. Also, a maid had taken an expense lotion that we had purchased before the trip. She stated that it was empty and she "threw it away". It was a brand new bottle, we left it with our other belongings not very accessible and it was not in the trash can when we looked for it. The conceirge didn't help with this matter either.

What service! - posted on 10/20/2005

What a wonderful, quaint hotel! The front desk was incredible. They helped us and kept us informed of our luggage, since it didn't make it onto our connecting flight. Told us where to go to get some replacement items. And the location of the hotel to Vatican City was about a block. WONDERFUL!!! We would definatly stay there again.

Breathtaking views - posted on 06/08/2005

The hotel was indeed in a great location. The staff was very helpful and the one airport transfer was great. The room decor was a bit dated and the mattress a bit uncomfortable, however once you opened your window at night to see the Vatican, all was forgotten...or at least prioritized. The breakfast was also wonderful, served with another spectacular view of Rome. Americans must remember, however, that hotels in other countries will be different. As long as you keep an open mind you will have a great stay at this hotel.

Overpriced - posted on 04/21/2005

Location is excellent and within walking distance to attractions outside Vatican. Breakfast is a +++ with the view of Basilica and surrounding areas. Room size small as expected of European hotels. Facility old, hardly luxurious, and needs updating so you are essentially paying for location and convenience. Ask for higher floor accommodations. Contact hotel prior to arrival for shuttle transfer. Return to airport is on your own, a cab ride about 40 Euro and bus is 18 pps

great place to stay - posted on 03/14/2005

Great location! The hotel is walking distance from the vatican and the metro. You could walk to the spanish steps but it is better to take the metro. Great shops and cafes around the corner.

The best view!!! - posted on 10/25/2004

This hotel has the best view of Rome! Our room was with Jacuzzi, on the top floor. The service in the restaurant and on the reception was perfect.
