We were on business last week in Athens . We checked online on Internet and chose to stay at the Hotel Rio Athens. The hotel was beautiful, the staff was extremely helpful, and the buffet breakfast was lovely. They had internet access. The metro is just in the corner. It is located downtown and very close to the exhibition centre. Recommend it for business trips. We will stay there again on a regular basis

Located about 4 blocks from omonia square (a sort of de facto town center), Rio provides small, comfortable rooms and excellent service. The english speaking staff is friendly and attentive. While not as close to everything as the hotel summary suggest, it is still well worth the money.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel in November 05. The most special thing worth mentioning about this hotel is the staff. They were warm, caring and helpful. We were able to have dinner at the hotel and enjoy the unique style of the restaurant under the candle lights. Very romantic! The hotel is located in the center of Athens which makes it perfect for sightseeing. We are planning on taking our honeymoon in Athens at the Hotel Rio.

Magnificent hospitality. I recommend this hotel to you all . The hotel has many kinds of rooms, appropriate for businessmen, couples, families, friends etc. The hotel is newly renovated providing a Greek look with a modern touch.

The Hotel Rio Athens is a home away from home. Perfect location, nearby transportation, excellent services. The staff were very helpful, especially Spiros at the reception. We drank beers in the Rio Bar until late at night while watching the football match (Panaithinaikos Greece vs Barcelona Spain 0-0) together with the hotel manager . What a great guy! When we go back to Athens Greece, we will definitely stay at the Hotel Rio Athens.

Excellent location in the heart of Athens. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by their friendly staff. The service was excellent; the facilities of the room were plenty. The rooms were nicely decorated, comfortable and very clean. The rooms as well as the hotel were well-designed and well-appointed.

10-15 walk to Plaka/Acropolis through a low-end, but safe neighborhood. Subway is 1 minute from the hotel. It's a safe, clean and user friendly. Hotel staff is pleasant, rooms are clean. Problems: air conditioning is weak, showers are small, beds are extra firm, and traffic noise is loud until midnight. Some rooms have windows that open into an enclosed lobby. Get a room with an outside window, otherwise air circulation is terrible and the lack of sunlight is depressing! Hotel not fancy, but clean, safe. Seek different hotel if you have kids and want total comfort.

Hotel Rio Athens is located in the center of Athens. We can walk to Akropolis, the National Archaeological Museum, the National theatre, the railway station and the flea market. . Easy access to the new airport by metro as well as to the Piraeus harbour for any island connection. It is truly in the heart of Athens.The hotel rooms are very clean, the buffet breakfast is excellent,the restaurant next door serves great greek food and the hotel staff is VERY FRIENDLY.We go again
