Weeks Stay at the Agora - posted on 03/09/2007
We found the hotel clean with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Notre Dame was three blocks away, close to the Maubert metro station, and close to the Number 24 bus to travel to Musee d'Orsay. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was fabulous! Elevator small but able to squeeze two people and luggage in. Church bells did ring at 7:45AM but were charming instead of annoying. Bells did not ring after 11:00PM until the next morning. All in all great little hotel. Did not try breakfast - wonderful bakery around the corner.

We enjoyed our stay at the Agora Saint Germain.Great location, friendly staff, clean and quiet. Bathrooms modern and nice breakfast room . The baker around the corner was wonderful. We couldn't resist having a picnic with baggets, cheese, wine and desserts after we watched the lines of people standing outside to get in every day.

Amazing hotel. Very clean, everyone there spoke english and was very nice and polite.Rooms were pretty big for european standards. The metro was really close and at least ten cafes were walking distance from the hotel. The only bad thing was that it was next to a church and the bell was really loud-starting at 8 and every hour after.But..who wants to be sleeping in paris anyway?
quaint, clean, friendly - posted on 11/11/2006
Great staff of courteous people that cared how we were getting along. Safe, clean, smallish by US standards but sufficient. Good breakfast service, helpful at every turn. New bathroom was a huge plus in a city with poor public accomidations. Local church bells were beautiful while a bit annoying, lol. We would return, Thank You staff.
Great experience in Paris! - posted on 10/03/2006
The hotel is located in the Latin Quarter extremely close to a Metro station and close to Notre Dame. There were at least 50 restaurants in the area close to the church of St Severin. The hotel staff were super helpful and all of them spoke english. The room was big enough, and the bathroom was all renovated and 100% clean. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to go to a very nice clean hotel for not too much money. A lot of value for the money paid!
Terrific Stay - posted on 09/07/2006
The people at the desk, and the custodial staff are terrific! They speak English and greet you with a smile every day. European rooms are small. Period. Buffet breakfast is delish, but it's 10 Euros per day. Bathrooms are clean (but the French don't use shower curtains!). Wi-Fi available for a charge. So close to Notre Dame, cafes, restaurants, bookstores and a nice market called "8 a Huit."

This hotel is very conveniently located in the Latin Quarter. A Metro stop is close by as are cafes, shops, and a laundromat. The rooms are very small but functional, which seems to be typical for Paris. We were there during a heat wave and appreciated the air conditioned room. Many places in Paris are not air conditioned. The staff at the desk were very helpful and made phone calls for us and bookings for us. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Overall, nice quaint hotel very close to the Notre Dame. Rooms are small but typical for Europe. Only surprise was the nearby church's bell ringing every morning before 8am. Okay if you are planning to be up anyway but would be hard to sleep in.
We'd come back. - posted on 03/24/2006
Small hotel with good location. Staff was very helpful and all spoke some English. They handled missing baggage calls. ATM just outside and wonderful bakery around the corner. Even at lowest setting, room was hot. They are still remodeling, but it was not an issue.

I recommend this hotel for adults. The location is great. Everything is clean and everything works. The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are small but you expect that is a European style hotel. Therefore, do not brings any kids as there is no room for them to play. Do not buy their breakfast since it is expensive and you can do much better in the neighborhood. However, it is a good hotel and I would stay there again anytime.

Just returned from our second honeymoon in Paris. The hotel was in the perfect location---a short walk to Notre Dame or Rue Mouffetard. Room was small, but adequate, with a HUGE bathroom by European standards. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. They also let us check in right away (10 am) to nap before exploring the Latin Quarter. Would definitely go back again!
OK but... - posted on 09/20/2005
We stayed at the Agora for 4 nights. The hotel is pretty typical parisian hotel: small rooms, very basic. But the problem is IT WAS HOT, and they have the AC in the rooms set for only 2 degrees below the outside temp! Wow. No matter how much we begged, we could not get the room at a comfortable temperature. They slid and slid and never did anything about it. Staff is OK, but very cut and dry as well. No extra smiles or helpfulness. Just a basic type of deal.
