Convenient but pricey - posted on 10/05/2006
This hotel couldn't be more convenient if you need trains. It's connected to the Paddington Station and you can enter the hotel from the train platforms. I had come in from LHR on the Heathrow Express and had a 715am train next morning to Cardiff, so convenience couldn't be beat. Restaurants nice, sandwiches in the two grocery stores in the station was nicer. Rooms plush, completely comfortable, bathrooms spotless. Only problem is the price! My room including VAT was 282 GBP, more than $500! If you need the train and want to splurge, here's your spot.
Not a great place to stay . . . - posted on 10/15/2004
This hotel is very convenient but it definitely did not have the polish of a typical Hilton. Additionally, the rates are high for the quality that is offered. The service was not very attentive or particularly polite. Most importantly, the rooms were not well attended to and required better cleaning. The current General Manager is relatively new; maybe he can improve the hotel; it has great potnetial. Overall, you could probably find a better place for the same amount of money.
