Although its snowcapped mountains, crisp air and wide open spaces are legendary, you might be surprised to find Whitehorse has warmer winters than some of Canadas prairie cities. Make your way to the MacBride Museum if you are interested in learning more about the Klondike history. Housed in historic buildings you will see a fantastic collection of information portraying its vast history. Ever see a Log Skyscraper? This log Trading Post only stands four stories high but has a wealth of fantastic gifts and treats for you and your family, whether you are looking for jewelry, clocks, candy or real gold nuggets. Oh, it also has an amazing collection of items with moose and fish on them. Only in Whitehorse... In staying with the log theme, make your way to the Old Log Church Museum. Although the building itself is an interesting site to see, inside you will find a great ensemble of whaling artifacts and art pieces.

Miles Canyon is a fantastic place to enjoy the spectacular scenery that thrives here. Although the rapids have long disappeared the canyon is still a lovely place to explore and enjoy the views. There are hot springs in the Yukon? Its true. The Takhini Hot Springs provides you with a relaxing environment, complete with the mountains as your backdrop.

Most people head up to Whitehorse to catch a glimpse of the wildlife that thrives here. Whether you are fishing for salmon or taking pictures of the Moose and Bighorn sheep, you will be amazed at the beautiful animals that call Whitehorse home. The Yukon Wildlife Preserve is a fantastic place to enjoy many of these animals. The best way to see them though would be on a guided tour. Remember, you are on their turf literally.
