Prince Albert has carefully preserved its history, which makes its museums worth exploring. The Historical Society Museum, housed in an historic fire hall, the Rotary Museum of Police and Corrections, and the Evolution of Education Museum are great ways to learn more about Canada’s past. Interestingly enough Sir Wilfrid Laurier, William Lyon Mackenzie King and John G. Diefenbaker, three of Canada’s Prime Ministers, hail from Prince Albert. The Diefenbaker House is an interesting place to see where one of Canada’s leaders lived. Another famous Canadian leader from Prince Albert is the legendary Grey Owl, who dedicated his entire life to the Native Americans and preserving the nature that thrived around him.
For those who would rather spend their time outside, Prince Albert has beautiful golf courses both within the city limits and a short drive away, no pun intended. The Prince Albert National Park is about 30 miles (50 kilometers) from the city. Once there you will be treated to a fantastic display of nature. The lakes, forest and local wildlife are reason enough to ensure you pack a camera along. Keep your eyes open for the herd of Bison that call it home.

Prince Albert is also the starting point for the Canadian Challenge, which is a 500+ km dog sled race that ends in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. Welcome to a city whose rich history includes protecting its wildlife, turning out top Canadian leaders and providing you with some of Saskatchewan’s finest natural landscapes.
