Whatever time of year, the crisp mountain air is refreshing and a welcomed change from the stuffy city air.
Does HotelsByCity recommend this hotel?
The Fairmont le Chateau Montebello is one of the largest log cabins in the world. Because of this, it definitely has a rustic charm to it. The service and food is all five star but there were some comments about the rooms and bathrooms – both looked a little dated and were in need of some repair. However, this hotel is filled with history and is surrounded by beautiful nature. It’s the ultimate getaway for travelers wanting to get out of the city but are nowhere near setting up a tent. There are just over 200 guest rooms, including one or two bedroom suites. Each features air conditioning, mini-bars, a TV with pay-per-view movies and video games. The Junior Suites are a great choice for those looking for a bit more as they come with a wonderful Jacuzzi.
When the summer heat hits you can enjoy a great round of golf. The snow shows off fantastic cross-country ski trails. There’s even an on-site ski shop. Inside the Chalet features swimming pools and the Spa Fairmont. Dining here is also a treat. The dining room, Aux Chantignoles, has a number of entrées for you to enjoy or you could go more relaxed and enjoy a drink at Le Seigneurie Bistro Bar. If you come during the summer make sure you save room for the outdoor BBQ feast – it’s amazing.
