Customer Reviews for Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto

Good Experience - posted on 04/24/2007

I stay at the Courtyard every visit to Toronto, I find it to be an excellent choice. Great location, friendly and helpful staff, extremely clean and excellent Marriott beds. Near subway station. It is difficult to use the airport shuttle as the nearest stop is the Delta Chelsea several blocks away.

All wet - posted on 03/29/2007

Our room developed a leaky bathroom ceiling about 4 am. The leak was so bad that it woke my girlfriend and me up. The bathroom ceiling light fixture was nearly covered with water. I was advised not to turn on any bathroom lights because of fear it might cause a short. The hotel provided another room, which was smaller than our original room. However, they did not help us move any of our items to the new room. We were given a room voucher for another night, but this wasn?t enough to overcome the poor conditions and poor service.

Best stay in Toronto - posted on 03/15/2007

I've stayed in most Toronto hotels and the Courtyard by Marriott has been the best, and it doesn't cost the most. Highly recommended. Great location. Outstanding, quiet (silent!) rooms.

Best value in area - posted on 10/06/2006

This is my new favorite hotel in TO. Newer rooms, free wired and wireless internet everywhere in the hotel, good prices, and friendly staff. The only big drawback to it is that there's no shuttle to the airport. You've got to drag your bags a fair distance over to the Delta Chelsea hotel to catch their shuttle. That's pretty bad in winter and why I sometimes don't stay there during those months. Overall though, I dig it. I'm staying there again in a few days.

a very pleasant place to stay - posted on 07/20/2006

The hotel was a good value and perfect for our needs. The staff was pleasant and provided a good suggestion for a fun moderately priced dinner nearby (the pickle barrel), based on a previous reviewer we visited the nearby Fran's restaurant (think diner) for a good breakfast with good servie. Room was large, comfortable, nicely appointed and clean, location was great. The only minor complaint (and I do mean minor) was that the pool somewhat small, though it was fine for a relaxing dip and the pool area and fitness center were very nice. We would definitely stay again--a good value!

Toronto Visit - posted on 04/12/2006

The hotel was not in the best part of the city. We walked past a couple of XXX theatres and an adult novelty store on our way to the CN Tower & SkyDome. Hotel & shopping mall were very nice. Subway was easy to use and was a quick way to get to SkyDome for the baseball game. People were very friendly, but there were a number of strange people hanging around on the street. CN Tower view is great. Toronto is a very nice city.

Best Quality for Your Money in Downtown Toronto - posted on 02/19/2006

I've stayed at this hotel several times and have absolutely no complaints. It is definately ideal for people interested in shopping and sightseeing in and around downtown/Yonge St/Bloor St. The quality of the Courtyard is far superior to similarly priced/rated hotels in the area. If driving, you can save a lot of money by parking in the ramp across the street from the hotel...the hotel parking is nearly three times as expensive. Staff is friendly at all levels and has always been eager to please.

Perfect no-frills option - posted on 02/15/2006

Great location on Yonge St, close walk to the Eaton Center. Valet service worked great and the staff was very friendly. Perfect for a short stay with a good rate when your goal is to see Toronto rather than relaxing at your hotel. I've always seen the Courtyard as the perfect balance between luxury and efficiency as this location didn't disappoint. Recommended to anyone looking for a hotel that provides a pleasant place to walk through and sleep at but not expecting a small resort.

Amazing - posted on 01/24/2006

An amazing hotel. Couldn't believe we had paid so little for how good it was. So handy to all the sights in downtown Toronto and really close to the subway. We didn't try the restaurant as there were so many cafes etc nearby. Free internet saved us a fortune and was such a treat. I would definitely book here again.

Needs a little work - posted on 12/28/2005

My biggest complaint about the hotel was with housekeeping. Our room wasn't even cleaned one day and the next day it wasn't cleaned until after 5:00, which was quite an inconvenience when we were trying to get ready for the theater after a day of sightseeing.

A Hotel Worth Considering - posted on 12/01/2005

Pretty good location, excellent price. Rooms are not overly lavish, but have space and nice accomodations. If you're looking for a good value, this is the place to stay at. I'd definitely come back.

fun trip - posted on 09/14/2005

I visited Toronto with my 15-year old niece and stayed for 4 nights, 5 days. The room was small, but comfortable, the service was great and we were always attended to right away. The subway (which was clean and safe) was only a block away and most of the primary city tourist sights were within a short ride from the hotel. Many restaurants of varying cuisines and shopping were right outside the hotel and Eaton Ctr. was an easy walk.

Great Staff - posted on 07/16/2005

This hotel has the friendliest staff at any hotel I ever stayed at. If you needed something, they were right on top of it! They would even stop you in the lobby to ask how your stay/trip was going. World class service in a world class city. Beds, however, were typical for a hotel. Very "bouncy" and difficult to get a good night sleep.

Not for Families - posted on 07/14/2005

Went here w/ my mom, dad and husband. They put us in a room directly in front of the elevators. All the late party people had to pass by our room. ALso could hear neighbors through wall, mostly yelling and screaming and banging on the door at 2:30am! Definately NOT for famlies!! They even charded us for a local call! If you are single and love to party you will find this the perfect place!

Great Location - posted on 07/07/2005

Hotel was right in the middle of downtown. Walking distance to most things. Tours leave right from the area. Valets knew best info about where to eat. Rooms great and friendly service.

Fab location- great hotel - posted on 06/16/2005

The handiest hotel in Toronto that isn't ridiculously priced. Its walking distance to downtown and right beside a subway stop that will take you everywere else! Rooms were fantastic and really clean. Reception staff were really helpful. Plus the free internet access was a God Send for writing home.

We travel frequently and this is one of the best hotels I've stay at. Excellent service, very clean, comfortable and well appointed rooms and facilities. Wonderful location just steps away from the subway and all your favourite coffee shops. I will stay here again on my next trip to Toronto.

Location was at leat good - posted on 04/07/2005

Stayed here in November, second stay here. The room I was given was awful, right outside the cooling units. Toilet broke, took a day for someone to come fix it... they seem bother by the imposition at the front desk. Probably wont stay here again

Top notch - posted on 11/23/2004

I thought this place was top notch. The whole place was very clean and quiet, and felt like a 5 star hotel. If I had been there for more than one night, I might have checked out the pool. Maybe next time.
