Customer Reviews for Aston Michaels Inn by the Falls

Great time! - posted on 07/18/2005

Aston Michael's Inn By the Falls is an economical hotel that offers everything you need for a getaway! It is close to everything interesting and so what if the states falls is all you can see from your room! We walked everywhere we wanted to go and the room was clean, service friendly and there just wasn't anything else we needed!

Overall is was a good value. The staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating, except when we asked to have adjoining rooms with friends. The hotel was clean, free parking, and within walking distance to the Falls, even for my 4 year old.

Greyt Place to Stay - posted on 08/08/2005

Everything about the hotel was excellent. Coutious Staff, greyt food, clean rooms, new swimming pool, FREE PARKING. The front desk staff went out of ther way to ensure we had a good stay. They are well informed about the area and what to do or see. If you are a golfer the hotel is centrally located with excellent coarse only minutes away. The Prime Rib dinner is the best I've ever had and at a resonable price.

Nice and Cozy - posted on 02/03/2006

This hotel is a great bargin! The outside of the building is plain but inside is really nice and cozy. A great location, about a block away from casino ans US falls. Service was quick, friendly, & convenient.

Fine for the money - posted on 01/19/2006

We were in a room on the 3rd floor. Rooms have been updated, corridors need much improvement. Windows were very drafty and the heater in the room kept us awake at night. Pool area very nice - best part of hotel.

Great Value - posted on 10/29/2005

There IS a falls view from the balcony of some rooms. The American Falls only though. Room was clean and service was great. Within walking distance of everything and yet not TOO close, so it's nice and quiet. In-house restaurant was VERY good and priced fairly, as compared to many restaurants in the area. The only drawback was in parking. The closer lot is cramped and always full, the rear lot is a climb up some stairs but then again, the parking is free, unlike many of the other hotels. Would highly recommend.

Unlike the previous review, we DID have a falls view, of the American Falls, from our balcony, as advertised. Free parking a plus in this area and all nearby attractions were within walking distance. A clean room, courteous, helpful staff and excellent food are found here. If luxury is what you want, pay 2 or 3 times the amount, elsewhere.

A great stay - posted on 10/11/2005

Hubby and I went to Niagara Falls for our 25th wedding anniverary.....the room was clean and spacious.......the bed was excellent. A short walk to the falls and amusements. We would definitely stay here again!

My Issues - posted on 10/07/2005

The Hotel was decent enough for the price, but there is no falls view...more like a river view. And the city view was of the parking lot. Everything was within walking distance, but it was quite a hike from the hotel to Clifton Hill and I felt mislead by the info provided and I personally would have chosen a different hotel if I had been better informed.

Good Experience - posted on 08/31/2005

We did get a balcony and "fallsview" room which was good, but you did have to stretch your neck around the building to see the falls. The room was a bit cramped for the four of us and the bathroom was very small, but overall it was a good choice. It is located away from the 'tourist' noises and an easy walk (10 min) to the horseshoe falls. Also felt very safe walking back and forth to the falls at night. Staff very friendly and room clean, although did smell of smoke a bit. Would recomend to others.

A Lovely Time - posted on 08/01/2005

The hotel's location and free parking by Rainbow Bridge made it very convenient to walk to the attractions on both sides of the Falls, as well as drive to Buffalo or Niagara-on-the-Lake. We switched rooms during our stay (a planned event) and the hotel made it easy - both to physically move our luggage as well as move charges to our second room's account. Everyone at the front desk and restaurant was helpful and friendly. The hotel is small, quiet and away from the hub-bub of Clifton Avenue.

nice vacation/disappointing room - posted on 06/03/2007

My wife and I went for our 1st anniv/honeymoon. When we arrived the smell in the hallways reminds me of a motel. The hotel is located about 2 blocks away from the falls and three blocks from Clifton Hill. Free parking a HUGE plus!!! But for a romantic getaway the decor was to old and cheesy for us. Other than that it wasn't a total loss, and we had a lot of fun.

smoking or non...does it matter? - posted on 03/01/2007

Clean rooms, everything was given as promised but hotel does need some updates and remodeling. Booking agency was wonderful. The only complaint we had was being in a non-smoking room but dealt w/a room around us smoking and drifting into ours. Other than that...not bad for the price.

Stay here if you want a great value. The rooms are clean, and it is a short walk to Clifton Hill. The water pressure in the shower is amazing. They also have a jacuzzi to soak in after a long day walking. A big plus. Very clean, very affordable.

Great Location - posted on 10/17/2006

Really enjoyed the stay at the hotel. Couldn't ask for a better location. Mintutes to pretty much everything. Rooms were clean. Didn't try the restaurant, lounge or swimming facilities. Too busy enjoying everything that Niagara has to offer. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Well Worth it! - posted on 09/06/2006

I looked for cheaper priced hotels, but they seemed to be questionable, especially based on some of the negative reviews of the other hotels. The reviews for this hotel were almost all positive, so I went for this one. We were happy that it was clean and everything was working. Bathroom was small, but ok. Room was a little damp, but then again, the whole area is damp. It is Niagara falls after all.

WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE OF EVERYTHING - posted on 08/17/2006

Michael's did not have wonderful view but was within walking distance of everything. Hotel was clean and the room was very nice. I felt we definately got a deal for price we paid and location. The restaurant was pricey and the food was nothing to brag about. The bar is not recommended to spend your money at. For the same price you can go to the Hard Rock Cafe and have entertainment too. Don't exchange your money at hotel! Go to casino to exchange or currency exchange booths on Clifton Hill. If you aren't going for the "extras", I would highly recommend staying here.

All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel had a very nice restaurant and bar. The pool and Hot tub were excellent additions. The rooms were very clean. The view could have been better but all in all it was very nice and I will stay there again. Our children will love it.

Close to Everything for a Great Price - posted on 08/16/2006

This place was good, however the only thing that worried me were the emergency exits-there were only two side doors. Also there was no ice machine on the third floor, we had to go down to the second just to get ice. Otherwise the staff was great, friendly and nice and the rooms were clean and pleasant.

Nice Place - posted on 07/04/2006

Price was good...Location was great, had a view of the river..Bad part about balcony is the light is always on..Can't sit out at night w/o being illuminated. Beds were comfy..Bathroom small but usable..Lower level parking was tight...Pool area new and well maintained..and good up to date equipment in exercise room. Air conditioning was easily controlled..but if u got kids..There was no nick or cartoon net..Just some canadian cartoon channels. Restaurant buffet was ok..No fruit to speak of..lots of fat & carbs. Overall good place

SEVERAL VISITS, ALL GREAT - posted on 06/13/2006

We have stayed many times in 12 years, honeymoon then family trips. Most recently, 4 days in November 05. Rooms are good size, spotlessly clean, well maintained and surprisingly, REASONABLE PRICE! The staff was extremely friendly & helpful, the pool area spotless, great temp, open until 11pm. We ordered room service breakfast every day, arrived hot & freshly prepared. Very short walk to Casino, Planet Hollywood & Hard Rock, Clifton Hill. Theme rooms with Jacuzzi rooms are enormous & really romantic! We're looking forward to return in July, wouldn't stay anywhere else in NF.

Very nice and very freindly - posted on 06/12/2006

We stayed at the Michael's Inn June 1st and 2nd. I didn't want to leave. The pool was fantastic, the staff freindly and helpful and the food was fantastic. We had a $* package plan which we added on to our room stay and if was to die for. The breakfast was a full buffett and the dinner was a choice of 4 (FULL) meals, I had the Prime Rib which came with my appetizer and dessert/coffee/tea/drink. Stay here if you arelooking for a great place close to but away from the falls

Good location - posted on 06/10/2006

Michael's Inn is just to the right of the Rainbow Bridge. The rooms are good. There is a restaurant and indoor pool. It is close to the Falls and most attractions, but on the quieter side of town. The restaurant does close quite early, but snacks, such as pizza, are available till late night at the bar.

We stayed at Michael's and were overall very satisfied. The location can't be beat and the price made it a great value. The falls view was not great, but it is a short walk to get there and the casino and clifton hill. It's pretty easy to find, right off the bridge, and parking was free.

Great hotel for a good price! - posted on 02/15/2006

I visited the Falls 2/10/06 and stayed until 2/12/06. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is an older hotel but was very clean and in a great location to see the Falls and visit all the local shops & restaurants.

Good value but not fancy - posted on 11/30/2005

My husband and I had a fallsview room. We had to stand on the balcony and look to the far right corner to see the falls peeking out from under the bridge. It's more a river view with a road in front. It was a quaint room with couch- not bad. Walking distance to see the falls. It was quiet but also off season at Thanksgiving. We might come again.

old and musty - posted on 10/15/2005

From what it looks like on the website, they have updated the hotel, but not all of the rooms. Our room was on the lowest level, which was partly underground. Upon first arriving, it was very musty smelling. After running the heater for a day, some of the smell was gone. Overall, it was clean, just needs an update to compete with some newer hotels in the area.

I paid extra for the Falls View room, and it did not have a falls view. Otherwise, everything very nice and hotel in great location. Great Indoor Pool!
