Edmundston

Visiting Edmundston brings you to the threshold of New Brunswick, Maine and Quebec. This prime location is only one of the many reasons you should come though. Its unique museums, beautiful architecture and stunning parks all help make this a great New Brunswick destination.

With Quebec as its neighbor it should come as no surprise that Edmundston is a primarily French-speaking city. Thus, you will find that many of the site and street names are all in French. The Petit Témis Interprovincial Linear Park is a fantastic 80-mile biking path that actually links these two provinces together. Keep your eyes open for the great attractions you will find along your way. Once the snow falls it is transformed into a beautiful snowmobile path. Speaking of snow falling, one of the hidden treasures in Edmundston is Mont Farlagne. This quaint ski hill is one of the best the Maritimes has to offer. There is also a fantastic tubing hill if you prefer going down on a big rubber circle rather than two skinny skis.

Car enthusiasts will love exploring the Antique Automobile Museum. Carefully preserved vintage cars are on display and showcase how the automotive industry has evolved throughout history. Fortin du P'tit Sault Blockhouse is a must for those who love history. Built back in the 1840s the original fort was created to protect the states from the British. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, built in 1927, is a wonderful example of both Romanesque and Gothic architecture. It is well worth visiting and learning more the materials that were used and how this impressive church was constructed.

Edmundston

Edmundston also has its fair share of festivals. The Jazz and Blues Festival held in June draws out the crowds eager to hear fantastic music. The Foire Brayonne is another great event, which is held in August. This French themed festival is one of the largest of its kind in Canada.

Whether you are on your way to or from Maine and Quebec or are visiting Edmundston all on its own, you will find this charming city well worth your time.
