New Brunswick Province Guide

New Brunswick is a wonderful place to enjoy all that the Maritime Provinces have to offer. It is a place that has carefully preserved its French heritage. This is where you can stay dry as you walk along the ocean floor, feast on fresh lobster and take part in fantastic festivals. You will be amazed at what you can all do and see as you explore this beautiful place.

Many of the homes located throughout the province have been around for centuries. Step into the past at Magnetic Hill where you can see a carefully preserved traditional Maritime fishing village. Another place where history has been kept alive is the Fredericton’s Historic Garrison District. Its cafés, shops and festivals draw out the crowds. King’s Landing Historical Settlement takes you even further back in time. The 18th century town gives you great insight into the trials the early pioneers had to face.

The Fundy National Park and the Kouchibouguac National Park are beautiful places to explore. Golf enthusiasts should make their way to Mactaquac Provincial Park. The holes here are sure to please even the pros. Birders will love Cape Jourimain National Wildlife. You will find this preserve close to Confederation Bridge. The Kingsbrae Garden located in St. Andrew’s is a must for anyone who loves to garden. Even if you are not an avid gardener it is still a treat to see the beautiful flowers. Ever think you could be in three places at the same time? The City of Edmundston brings you to the cusp of New Brunswick, Maine and Québec. Cross borders again as you make your way along the 80-mile bike path at Petit Témis Interprovincial Linear Park where you will soon find yourself in the province of Québec.

Cape Enrage is a fantastic place to explore an historic lighthouse and walk along the ocean floor. Hopewell Rocks is another great location to see what lies beneath the water. In fact, it claims to have the highest tides in the entire world. If you are not able to make it there, head over to Passamaquoddy Bay. Its tides can drop close to 25 feet every six hours. There are of course fantastic water adventures to be had. Sailing, fishing and swimming are only a few. An absolute must though are the whale watching tours. The Northumberland Strait is what separates Prince Edward Island from New Brunswick. This fantastic body of water provides locals and tourists alike with beautiful beaches and warm waters.

New Brunswick is also a place to party. Claiming to be the lobster capital of the world it would only make sense that they would have one of the largest lobster festivals as well. Don’t be surprised if you turn a few shades of red after you have dined on all the shellfish you can enjoy. Other great events include the Hubcap Comedy Festival, the World Wine and Food Exposition and the Northrop Frye Literary Festival.

New Brunswick is one of those places where you can enjoy world-class meals, see stunning scenery and great attractions without breaking your wallet to enjoy it all. To top it off, the people are hospitable and friendly. All of this makes New Brunswick a fantastic place to explore.
