We came for the Celebration of Lights and were not disappointed. Fantastic show and perfect spot to stay.

Great Location - posted on 09/04/2006

Stayed here 4 nights. 1 blk from the Bay, spent every evening watching the sun go down a blk away at the bay beach. This is a wonderful location I will stay here again. Bathrooms are 1960's era but everything else was nice. no complaints

Very Satisfied - posted on 04/17/2006

The hotel is located in the older part of Vancouver, right by English Bay and Stanley Park. The view from the hotel room would have been great, except their was a big hotel in the way. But if you walk down the road at sunset, it is absolutely stunning, I got some amazing pictures. The hotel staff were very helpful, extremley friendly, and they were always willing to help. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in staying in Vancouver.

Good hotel on English Bay - posted on 07/27/2005

The Sands was clean and neat with an excellent location at the West End, across from English Bay and adjacent to Stanley Park. We would definitely stay there again. We loved the neighborhood. I can't speak for hotel services as we only stayed one night. We had a room advertised as having an ocean view. The view of the BAY was from across the street and with intervening buildings. I wouldn't pay extra for this view.

great location - posted on 06/14/2005

Located near the intersection of Davie and Denman, the hotel has one of the best locations for anyone wanting to stay in the West End. Frequent bus lines 5 and 6 are right outside. Tons of shops, restaurants, caf?markets, and English Bay are nearby. Some rooms boast a grand view (except for one eyesore of a building in the way). Room d?r is a little dated, but rooms are still quite comfortable. Has wi-fi, although I didn't use it.
