Customer Reviews for Deer Lodge

Very old - posted on 06/04/2007

You can't bet the location since your only other option to stay this close to Lake Louise would cost $400 a night or more. You can easily walk to the lake. The rooms were very musty-smelling and basic (no phone or tv). We ate in the lounge, and the food we had was the best of our whole trip.

Good price for location - posted on 12/26/2006

The lodge is within walking distance of Lake Louise so the long wait for the Lake Louise public parking lot is avoided. The lodge rooms are small, attractively decorated and functional. The lodge restaurant food is good, beautiful views from the restaurant windows. The lodge is a great place to stay if sight-seeing and hiking are your priorities, and you want a convenient, comfortable place to stay that is quaint, attractive. The grounds are nicely landscaped, lots of beautiful flowers. The price of the rooms is reasonable.

small rooms - posted on 09/10/2006

It's a very expensive area, so this is reasonable relative to some of the others. The room was small and hot, but the service was good. Not a bad place to stay.

Good but not great - posted on 06/30/2006

Ask for a room looking out at mt, not courtyard. Beautiful! Rooms very small, not room for much suitcase storage. No AC, phone, TV or elevator. Sink has 2 separate faucets with rubber stopper. Bed uncomfortable. Room very plain, good for hikers. Typical looking lodge, rustic. Wooden stairs creek. Eat at Bill Peytos nearby.

too much for not much - posted on 06/19/2006

quant hotel, but the room was too small, the river too loud, and the bed was only a full size and very uncomfortable. probably the only reason that this hotel costa so much is because of it's close proxity to lake louise. we will stay in banff next time.

Great breakfast in a spectacular setting overlooking the Banff city and valley. Rooms had comfy furnishing and beautiful linens. Room size was medium. Area is more secluded, great for those people that don't want the action of Banff. Located near the Ski Resort area. Most of the city is across the freeway

Don'T Change - posted on 04/28/2004

We understand the lodge may be renovated in the next few years. We really enjoy the lodge atmosphere and services just as they are!!!We have been coming for several years during the ski season. Please don't change!!!
