The Hyatt Regency Calgary is a modern luxury 355-room hotel located in the heart of downtown Calgary offering world-class facilities for both businessmen and vacationers. Close by is Stephen Avenue Walk, known for its theatres, shopping and entertainment. The hotel has full facilities for conventions, seminars and weddings. The property says it has the largest guest rooms of any hotel in Calgary. The city, known as the Gateway to the Rockies, is nearby points of interest which include Canada Olympic Park, Glenbow Museum, Stampede Park, Spruce Meadows, Calgary Zoo and Fort Calgary.

Many leisure and business travelers who have stayed here noted that both the rooms and bathrooms were spacious and up-to-date. Most said the accommodation prices offered good value. There were complaints that the cost of drinks from the soda machines were very high and so was the cost of using the Internet. But nobody quibbled about the cost of dining here. Hyatt Regency Calgary Accommodations

The 400 square-foot rooms come with the choice of king-size bed or two double beds with views of the city or the prairie. Décor is in neutral tones with birch wood furnishings and western Canadian artwork. The modern granite bathroom has a hair dryer and other amenities include work desk with Internet access, dual line speaker phones, minibar, coffee maker, cable TV, in-room Laptop safe and iron and ironing board.

Amenities offered

The hotel’s Thomsons restaurant has continental cuisine and the Sandstone Fireside Lounge has a full range of cocktails and casual meals. The complimentary on-site fitness center has life cycles, free weights, stair-master and treadmills. The indoor pool and sundeck overlook the city. There is a Jacuzzi and steam room in addition to a European inspired full-service spa with nine treatment rooms. There is an art gallery and gift shop on-site and a fully equipped business center. Room service operates around the clock.

From Calgary International Airport: Take a left at the first light onto Barlow Trail. Turn left again at the first light onto Airport Trail. Then turn left onto Deerfoot Trail South followed by a right onto Memorial Drive heading west. Turn right onto 4th Avenue fly-over bridge to City Centre, then a left onto Centre Street. Drive three blocks south on Centre Street. The hotel is on the left. From the North (Edmonton / Red Deer): Drive south on #2 Highway, which becomes Deerfoot Trail. Next, take a right on Memorial Drive heading west. Take the 4th Avenue fly-over bridge to City Centre, and then turn left on Centre Street. The hotel is on the left between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue. From the West (Banff / Kananaskis): Drive east on #1 Highway, which becomes 16th Avenue. Take a right on Centre Street and follow it into the Downtown Core. The hotel is on the left between 8th Avenue and 7th Avenue. From the East (Medicine Hat): Drive west on #1 Highway, which becomes 16th Avenue. Head south on Deerfoot Trail then turn right on Memorial Drive. Take the 4th Avenue fly-over bridge to City Centre, and then turn left on Centre Street SW. Take a left on 9th Avenue followed by a left on Centre Street. The hotel is located on the left side between 8th Avenue and 7th Avenue.
