The Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets is a non-smoking resort that boasts an enviable location on Tunnel Mountain in the Canadian Rockies.Being only four minutes from beautiful downtown Banff, it combines the best of both worlds: Guests are close to the action, but secluded enough to enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the mountains. This distinctive alpine resort offers an ideal base for exploring the surrounding mountains and their activities. Discount tickets to local attractions are available at the concierge desk. The hotel is three miles north of the Mount Norquay Ski Resort, and 36 miles from the fabulous Sunshine Village ski area.

The Douglas Fir Resort in Banff is geared towards families. As such, it is families who seem to be the most enthusiastic about the resort itself, the accommodations and the activities. Both kids, and kids at heart, were thrilled to see wildlife right outside their condo door. Guests who chose to take a car-free vacation were pleased that the Banff bus stopped right outside of the hotel's reception area. Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets Accommodations

The Douglas Fir Resort offers its guests a wide range of accommodations, which include studios, lofts, one bedroom condos, one bedroom loft condos, rustic chalets and large specialty suites. All of the units at the resort are fully air-conditioned, and each unit is well-equipped kitchens. Most units have wood-burning fireplaces.

Amenities offered

Families will definitely enjoy the two giant indoor water slides, as well as the swimming pool, and the kiddie pool. The hotel's new multi-level indoor play zone provides fun for young children, while the adults luxuriate in the saunas, whirlpools and steam room. The hotel also has a fitness room, outdoor tennis and basketball, an outdoor playground and barbecue stations. Good news for pet owners: The hotel recently added a limited number of pet-friendly accommodations!
