Tucson International Airport is the second largest commercial airport in Arizona. It is located 6 miles (10 km) south of Tucson, in Pima County, Arizona. Although Tucson International is not a hub for any major passenger airline company in 2005 the airport served 4,130,321 passengers with 284,674 aircraft operations.
Air Service Development is a high priority for the Tucson Airport Authority. TAA's primary objectives are to increase nonstop service to the central and eastern U.S. through continued placement of new carriers and expanding the services of incumbent airlines. Tucson's 10 carriers currently offer over 77 daily nonstop departures to 15 cities and direct service to an additional 24 destinations.
