Fairbanks International Airport has an airpark located at the north end of Charlie taxiway. It opens for the summer season generally mid May and closes around the end of September depending on weather. The Airpark currently provides 15 parking spaces, an area for 1 tent at each aircraft tie-down location, 2 covered pavilions, BBQ pits, pay phone, and an out house. The airport has plans for a bathroom and shower facility in the summer of 2005. Use of the Airpark for transient pilots is $10.00 per day with a maximum of 14-day stays. Please place payment form receipts on the windshield of your aircraft. The Airpark pavilions may be reserved for aviation functions by contacting Airport Operations at 474-2550 for scheduling and approval. Fairbanks International Airport serves many cargo operators as a convenient re-fuleing stop for some aircraft on trans-polar routes. With respect to passenger flight operations, FAI has limited number of passenger flights and air carriers that serve the airport. Two part 121 carriers, Alaska Airlines and Frontier Flying Service, serve the airport year-round.
