Venue: Myrtle Edwards Park. 3130 Alaskan Way West
Held at Seattle's Myrtle Edwards Park, the city celebrates American Independence Day with its annual "Fourth of Jul-Ivar's" celebrations. First held in 1964, the event has become one of the city’s best-loved parties that now attracts upwards of 300,000 revellers each year. The celebrations include live music on three different stages, children’s entertainment including fairground rides, inflatable slides and traditional clown performers. The day comes to a spectacular end with a fireworks extravaganza above Seattle's Elliott Bay. Set up by the late seafood restaurant owner Ivar Haglund, the event is his way of thanking the city for its patronage of his establishments over the years
