The annual Houston Shakespeare Festival is a unique collaboration between the city of Houston and its university. Dedicated to the work of William Shakespeare, the festival organisers describe the bard as "the greatest playwright in our civilization's history". The performances all take place at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Hermann Park. They are free to the public, although tickets are required for seating in the covered area at the theatre
