Created to celebrate and honour the work of filmmakers from all over the world, the annual Boston International Film Festival provides an arena for screening, championing and discussing a range of works by independent filmmakers. The festival screens fiction features, shorts, documentaries, animations and experimental works from both professional filmmakers and students. A number of prizes are awarded to directors on the final night of the festival which usually closes with a big party
