Venue: South Saskatchewan Riverbank. Central Saskatoon
Summer in Saskatoon is signalled by the arrival of a tented encampment on the south bank of the river. The bright pavilions accommodate the highly successful “Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan", the only professional summer theatre organization in the province. Since 1988 the festival has continued to grow, and is now recognized nationally and internationally as one of the finest Shakespeare Festivals in the country. The festival's ensemble of actors has worked together for many years around a core of six to seven regulars, with additional professionals and apprentices hired each year to complete the company. Demand for tickets is usually high and advance booking is recommended
