Venue: Northlands Park. 116 Avenue (off Gretzky Drive)
Edmonton’s refined nature is mixed with the screams and chaos of the midway for 10 days in late July at Edmonton’s Capital EX. The exhibition is a celebration and reflection of this diverse community and includes a packed entertainment programme of rides, performances, exhibits of fine arts, cultural displays and a massive musical theatre production. The Northlands site is lit up by the midway lights and nightly fireworks, rocked by the sounds of the country’s best bands onstage and the screams of ride-lovers, and clouded with the dust of the chuckwagon derby and thoroughbred races. The event has been an annual tradition since 1879 and now attracts over 700,000 people each year
