News for Cinema Buffs in Madison!
Movie-goers and film buffs --- especially those who love independent films --- will want to take note of two upcoming Madison celluloid happenings:
The first is the 2007 Wisconsin Film Festival which takes place this year April 12-15. Believe me, this is one of the best film festivals in the Midwest and not to be missed! Tickets for this ninth annual super cinema event go on sale March 17 and can be purchased online at the Festival's website: www.wifilmfest.org .
The second is the much anticipated opening of Sundance Cinemas 608 here in Madison on May 11. According to their website --- www.sundancecinemas.com -- this is the first in an emerging nationwide Sundance theater circuit. Located at Hilldale Shopping Center, Sundance Cinemas 608 will sport six screens as well as a coffee and sandwich shop, a full service bar, an art gallery, and a seasonal Rooftop Bar. An appearance by Sundance founder Robert Redford during the grand opening ceremonies is still unconfirmed, but celeb watchers should keep their eyes peeled...you just never know!
