Romy's Clothing Boutique

If you are like me, you just don't have the patience to navigate the department stores.  At the mall, I find myself turning towards smaller stores.  While I like some of the smaller stores, I do have a thing for tiny boutiques that sell clothes that are unique.  This is how I found Romy's in Redmond Town Center a couple of months back.  Romy's is a clothing boutique for women, ...

Forth & Towne: Closes June 15 (or when they run out of clothes)

It's such a shame this big-sister of the Gap brand is permanently shutting its doors. There were so many reasons to love it: affordable basics with feminine touches, cheap jeans, and friendly, competent staff (I witnessed a saleswoman trying on jacket after jacket to help a customer find the perfect birthday gift for his wife.)

Chocolate & Java at Seattle Central Public Library

The Barrista is Back!

Patrons and librarians alike experienced somewhat of a dry spell when the Farestart Coffee cart left the Living Room on the 3rd floor of the downtown public library.

Starting next week you can once again make your way into the stacks with your cup of Joe (lidded that is).

This morning, before the library opened, Christian Wong's Chocolati was introduced to employees and volunteers. Everybody ...

But those artist types need some chill time over the summer, so this Sunday, June 3 is the last I Heart Rummage until September.

Expect to find unique (but not corny) gift and personal items ...

Eating locally and organically in Seattle

Bring a cooler when you travel and with a little advance planning, and a little directory called the National Co-op directory, you can plan your U.S. trip around health giving food and feel good for your whole trip.   Picture yourself pulling out some nice cheese, bread, and wine for your lunch on the go.  Yum!

Food co-ops offer organic, sustainable food choices in an atmosphere that is more interested in health and ...
