BEST Steaks at Melrose Grill in Renton
While living on the East Side we discovered one of the best steaks to be savored in the area at The Melrose Grill which was established in 1901 with the first owner/founder's fortune earned in the Alaska Yukon Gold Rush.
Renton's tourist slogan is "Ahead of the Curve," and its recent revival shows a re-gentrified city becoming. My favorite is a medium well tenderloin washed down with a gin martini. Visit the Melrose's website at: www.melrosegrill.com
They do take reservations and I would recommend them if dining on a Friday or Saturday night.
Walk kitty-corner to another fine restaurant recommended by this very discerning Italian restaurant critic. Try "Armondo's"
Wait a few years and likely the Seattle Sonics NBA Basketball arena will be close by. Like a good park with many boat launches then try Gene Coulon Park at the southern tip of Lake Washington.
Tired of Costco? Try Sam Walton's "Sam's Club" also nearby in Renton. We buy 5 lbs of Seattle's Best Coffee there and it is the only place I've been that sells gallon containers of Breyer's Ice Cream. Sam's is good too for "inlaw" beer and wine. Catch my drift?
