*I did say I would post an international blog on occasion, and if I could figure out how to post it in THAT city's particular area - I would totally do that.  I am, unfortunately, not that web-savvy.  I am betting on the possibility of some Seattleites heading north for the weekend!

WHAT IS IT?

A "culinary journey through South Asia", and they are not kidding.

GO HERE FOR:

Sophisticated family dinner

Couples night out

Fun Friday night dinner with the girls

WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR?

via-spiga-boots.jpgBlack Via Spiga over-the-knee boots (it is colder than it looks outside), and that black & white halter mini-dress you wore to Paula's bachelorette outing.  And I said it was COLD so put that black velvet jacket on, for crying out loud.

*If you were a boy you would have worn a multicolored striped shirt, black pants, black monk-strap shoes, and your hair twisted into a faux-hawk.  All the cool kids are wearing the faux-hawk in Vancouver.

REASONS FOR THE LIKE-Like:

Location - Two blocks from the Fairmont Hotel, where you are staying.  So convenient!

Décor - very Asian-chic;  black enameled tables and chairs, with bright red leather booths and very cool vertical-slatted wood on the walls - I am not a Home Depot type of person, so don't know the proper phrasing for it, but it was really cool!

Bar - while it only has 6 or so bar stools, there is some kind of heating apparatus which keeps your knees warm while you're having drinks and waiting for your table.

Sushi - SO good!  Medium sized pieces of very fresh fish; particularly the Hamachi sashimi, Unagi nigiri, and the rainbow roll and some kind of other roll - can't remember the name, but it was delicious.

WHAT WOULD HAVE MADE ME WANT TO MARRY IT?

Better U.S./Canada exchange rate =(  The absence of three flat-screen televisions above the bar, showing curling or hockey...kind of kills the ambience (although die-hard sports fans will appreciate it); and to be honest the curling was kind of funny to watch.  The service was a little...um, off?  We received entrees at various intervals.  A heating apparatus under the tables.  Once we moved away from the bar, it was chilly!
