Cheapest Seattle Cruise is Elliott Bay Water Taxi

Seattle Pier 55 Elliott Bay Water Taxi

Tourists and commuters alike take advantage of King County Metro's Water Taxi Service with a 12 minute crossing of Elliott Bay and some of the best Seattle views. For only $3.00 each way, the taxi leaves the downtown waterfront Pier 55 almost every 30 minutes to West Seattle's Alki Beach, Seacrest Park.

On a clear day you can see the westerly Olympic Mountain Range so spectacular that when FDR toured it he was compelled to make it a part of our National Park system.

To the Southwest is Mount Rainier at over 14,000 feet. It explains why the region has some of the lowest church attendance in the country.

Take a mini-vacation while in town. Comb the beach area on the west side or the shops and sights of Seattle's Waterfront and Pioneer Square Districts. Once on the downtown side, get a transfer and ride the King County Metro Bus System or catch the free Waterfront Shuttle from either the downtown Pier 55 dock or the Seacrest Park dock.

Check local and state fishing regulations and get lucky! Here's a group of recreational fishers:

What a great trip for kids. Henry's just as happy taking this small cruise as he would be boarding one of the many cruise ships that arrive and depart from Seattle each May-September. This year over 675,000 passenger cruise ship arrivals and departures will take place. Most cruises head north through the Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, Vancouver and Victoria British Columbia, Inside Passage, and to the glaciers and cities in Alaska.

Check Holland America, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity Cruiselines for more complete information on cruises departing Seattle. Use this website for more information on cruises departing Seattle. Or, I receive a weekly email from www.vacationstogo.com informing me of low cost cruise vacations. I booked a one night "Party" cruise from Seattle to Vancouver on Norwegian's "Norwegian Pearl" for $100 for a balcony room departing 9/23/07. When it leaves Vancouver on 9/24 it will re-position with a great value cruise with a stop in Astoria, one day dock in San Francisco ending in Los Angeles after 4 additional nights with fares as low as only $249 for inside cabin.

Children under 5, ride the Water Taxi for FREE. Others are only $3.00 each way. For more information:

Oh, me, oh my, I posted a comment on this post about the Water Taxi and it appeared under Blogman9's post about the Water Duck Ride below! What happened?

Well it's there as a comment, in case you're interested in a 60-minute or 120-minute Mini Cruise (to and fro Bainbridge or Bremerton) on the Washington Ferries for $6.70 general, $3.35 seniors and $5.40 children 6-18 (Henry would go FREE).
