Ice Festival at Leavenworth is this Weekend Jan.19-21
Winter in Leavenworth is a hoot during the winter when you come for the IceFest Celebration.
Geared for locals anyone can enjoy this weekend of fun for the whole family. Events are schedule throughout the day.
Create a team and do some swooshing races, or race snow shoe. Restaurants have races to test their skills. Beautiful dogs sled vie for a win during sled pull competition. One of the favorite is ice sculpting in various age categories.
This year there is plenty of snow and the temperature is great. As always there is a small sledding hill right in town at the park which is a favorite for kids and adults alike.
Sunday night features fireworks that light up the sky around a back drop of the Christmas lights in town. It is a great treat. It is nice to take a cup of coffee and find a spot to sit and watch the festivities.
Be sure to take warm clothing and proper foot wear. It is snowy and often icy so be prepared.
