Cherry Blossom Festival: Strolls, Walks, and Bike Tours

cherry blossom festIf you haven’t had a chance to see the cherry blossoms, there are still lots of events planned to highlight DC’s thousands of cherry trees.

The annual National Cherry Blossom Festival commemorates the 1912 gift from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington, DC. The first two trees were planted on the north bank of the Tidal Basin in West Potomac Park and symbolize the friendship between the United States and Japan.
