Sunset Cruise

Can You Canoe?



Experience the great outdoors at Lake Accotink Park on Saturday, August 11, while having fun and getting a great workout! You will learn the basic mechanics of canoeing with an emphasis on safety and enjoyment. This is perfect for beginning canoers.

Children under 16 must be acconpanied by an adult. Canoes and life jackets will be provided. $10 per person.

Freedman's Cemetery



Alexandria Archaeology will offer guided tours by city archeologists of the recently rediscovered Freedmen's Cemetery in Old Town Alexandria. Tours are free and will be held at the site at South Washington and Church Streets on August 11, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm.

4-H Fair and Farm Show



Find old-fashioned fun at Frying Pan Farm Park with games, rides, abd exhibits. Watch the Fairfax County 4-H exhibitors prepare their project animals for the show. See real farmers use antique equipment in fields and around the barn. Get involved by trying your hand at milking a cow or goat, shelling corn, or other farm chores.

This event is August 4-5, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Bugs Bunny Goes Broadway



"Datwascally wabbit" returns.

City of Fairfax Band

The White Stipes



The White Stripes are coming to Geroge Mason University's Patriot Center on July 28. Tickets are on sale now, as well as being given away on DC101.

The concert will be held at 8:00 pm at Mason's Fairfax campus, and tickets begin at $40.
