Get Your Trans-Siberian Tickets Early!

Okay, I know that Halloween is not fully upon us yet, but if you enjoy the music of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra and want to get an early jump on their January 2nd 2009 performance at the AT&T Center, you can get your tickets early.

That is as early as Saturday October 4th 2008. For, on January 2nd 2009, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be performing two times at the AT&T Center.

At 3:00 PM and again at 8:00 PM. There are three ways to get these tickets. You can get them via telephone at: 210-224-9600, visit the Ticketmaster.com website or go to the AT&T Center’s Southeast Box Office.

It will be a spectacular show, so come on, bring the family and have a great time on January 2nd 2009 with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

Century Cave

Every once in a while I take the adventurous side of myself for a spin. And on one such recent excursion, I came across a cave known as Century Cave.

And if you want to get a look inside this scenic cavern, located just outside of Boerne, Texas, here are a few features that you will enjoy seeing and feeling.

To begin with, the year round temperature of this Century Cave is 66 degrees. And once inside, approximately 126 steps takes you 90 feet farther into the cave where you will see spectacular stalactites, stalagmites and so on.
But the beauty of this cavern does not end there. For once you are in the cave, you will be exposed to limestone rock formations, an underground river and six rooms. A tour of these six rooms can take up to 60-75 minutes tops.

Admission is: Adults - $12.00, Kids, (ages 5-12) $6.00 and admission for kids under the age of 5 is free. The Century Cave is opened from: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM after Labour Day until Memorial Day and from Memorial Day to Labour Day 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

I have always been fascinated with the wonder and mystery behind treehouses. For any adventurous kid, a treehouse gives a sense of privacy and mystery, for not all treehouses are the same.

And if you share a fascination for treehouses and you happen to be in the Alamo City between August 30th 2008 and December 7th 2008, you are in for a treat.

The San Antonio Botanical Gardens will be displaying about ten treehouses, all designed by local designers in its ‘Terrific Treehouses’ display at the city’s Botanical Gardens.

The Spurs Pre-Season '08

So no one from the San Antonio Spurs roster made it to this year’s Olympics in Beijing, China, save for Manu Ginobli who is playing for his national team, Argentina. But if your vacation plans bring you this way around the middle of October, you can catch an early glimpse of the Spurs before the regular NBA season tips off.

For the San Antonio Spurs pre-season games have been released. And even though the four time NBA Champs will be playing a total of seven games this pre-season, four of those games will be played right here in the Alamo City.

On October 10th they will take on the New Orleans Hornets, October 18th the Indiana Pacers, October 22nd they will face the Washington Wizards, and on October 24th they play the Miami Heat.

The games will begin at: 7:30 PM. So come on in to the AT&T Center for some pre-season basketball fun in October

If these triple digit temperature days have you ducking into the nearest air conditioned building for relief from this San Antonio heat, here are a few things you can do to beat the heat.

It’s not exactly an indoor mall, but you can check out the shops , restaurants and stores at the Quarry Market. There is something there for everyone, from the Quarry Cinema to Borders Books and music, you are sure to find something for everyone there.

And if you are looking for some shops you can duck into and you have not checked out these yet, you can take a look at the Village Weavers shops.

Located in the historic part of San Antonio, La Villita, here you will find an amazing assortment of unique merchandise such as: rugs, tote bags, jewelry, knick knacks and even toys. San Antonio Jazz's Alive 2008

I thought I would post this at this time to give Jazz enthusiasts who are planning for their next vacation spot to be San Antonio enough time to be here for this year’s Jazz’s Alive event.

For this year’s two day celebration of Jazz will feature Dave Brubeck. So if you do happen to be in the Alamo City on or during the weekend of September 20th-21st and you like Jazz music, you will enjoy it.

The San Antonio Jazz’s Alive event celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, so it should be quite memorable. And as usual, the venue is Travis Park, downtown, San Antonio.

Tom Petty At Verizon Wireless...

We all like some form of music. As for me, I prefer music from the eighties and some of today’s sounds. And if you like the music of Tom Petty and you’ll be in San Antonio around August 26th 2008 here’s your chance to see him in the Alamo City.

He will be performing at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre on August 26th. So bring your comfortable chairs and blankets, especially if you prefer to sit on the grass and don’t forget the water.

Come See The Phantom Of The Alamo Show

If you are looking for a lively and fun spin on what took place at the Battle of The Alamo, then this is one show you should not miss.

Titled: ‘The Phantom Of The Alamo,’ what you will be treated to here is a musical theatrical display of part of the history of Texas. And it’s a show that can be enjoyed by everyone.
