Fiesta 2008 was a huge success. And with that being recently over, here is another celebration you can enjoy if you happen to be here, in the Alamo City around the first week in May.

It’s the Cinco de Mayo celebration for which a little history is in order. In 1861 May 5th, when the French attempted an invasion at the battle known as the Battle de Puebla, it , the French army was defeatd by the Mexican army.

And it is an occasion that is remembered and celebrated annually, on May 5th. So if you happen to be in San Antonio on or around that time, be sure to partake in some of the Cinco de Mayo festivities.

Some of which will take place at Market Square. And there will be live music, other forms of entertainment and lots to eat and drink, so come on and have a good time at Cinco de Mayo 2008.
