Juneteenth in San Antonio

Yup it's that time of year again. Time to celebrate the date of Emancipation. June 19th, 1865. Families all over the country will be getting together and celebrating the date.

If you're not familiar with Juneteenth, it's the date that Executive Order #3 was read in Galveston Bay, Texas, declaring all slaves to be free. The date has been one of huge celebration ever since.

The full list of events is here at the official Juneteenth San Antonio site. There are just a few more events left, but the reenactment of the reading is yet to come.

Have a happy Juneteenth!
